January Writing Calendar
Here you will find the January Writing Calendar. I will not be reissuing calendars if they are lost. They are also included on the back of the weekly behavior log, so there is no excuse for not completing journals. Students must write in their journals every single day! Even holidays have prompts. If students have lost their journals please replace them. Any notebook is acceptable. Students failing to complete their journals will receive a zero which brings down their report card grade. There are no exceptions to this rule. Thanks!

Updated Information
Hey everyone! Can you believe it's October already? It seems like school is flying past! I will make a concerted effort to write in the blog weekly to keep everyone update! First, I am compiling an e-mail list to keep all parents updated with information! For instance, there is a chance of school being dismissed early or canceled completely if Joaquin doesn't get his act together! I will keep you all updated via e-mail! Secondly, today everyone received new notebooks! It is very important that we take very good care of our materials and follow the directions on the journal calendars! Each notebook has a writing rubric glued inside the cover. Students are to respond EVERY DAY! Sometimes that will be the only homework the students receive, but not today! Students are not to color and draw randomly throughout the book and they must use the front and back of their pages. The rule of not completing homework is to have a lunch detention with Ms. Steele. Lunch detentions are unpleasant and rarely are there repeat offenders! On the flip side, students that complete their journals for an entire month are invited to a special breakfast at the end of the month! I know it's hard, but second grade is hard work! Let's work together to get your children ready for third grade! If you have any questions please e-mail or text me! Like I said at Back to School night...if I'm not at school I'm sitting at the computer at Haldeman Ford and will answer you right away! Thanks and see you all soon!

First day of school...BIG SUCCESS!
Hello to any parents that are reading this blog! Today was our first day of school and it was AWESOME! First we went over our rules, we read a book called, Wemberly Worried, and responded to our reading, then we had special with Mr. Stallone! After computers we had lunch, then math! Mr. Stallone is also our afternoon specialist on Tuesdays so he came up and we completed our math diagnostic test! We got some bubble gum on the way out and that was the end of our day! Tomorrow is a reduced day because it is SO HOT outside! So pick up is 1 PM for tomorrow! I sent home an info sheet so please send back emergency contact forms and feel free to contact me if you have any questions! See you guys early tomorrow!
